Year : 2007 - February. All got fixed for marriage. I started thinking how things will go on. Honeymoon trip was the most important of those. I started searching for places that I can afford to visit. One of my colleague Sandip told me about Lahul & Spiti. I was searching for available information. Due to certain constrains I forced to settled with Sikkim.Coming back, I again started searching for Lahul & Spiti tour. In 2008, one day I read Vaibhav Sabharwal travelogue of solo ride to Ladakh. Now what was started as a search of honeymoon destination turned out most wanted journey of my life.
Every body has his/ her own dreams. Some came true some are not. But chasing dream something different. I am chasing my dream last five years.
Stated about my journey brings out numerous comments from my family and close ones.
And those are like.
- "Motorcycle Saitaner Chaka. Ato dure jabi kichu hoye gele." English : Motorcycle is demon's wheels. If some thing happen??
- "Oto diner chuti pabi na. Jao to durer katha." English : You won't even get the leave for so many days. Traveling is far beyond.
- "Okhane bipod kata ta?" - from mother. English : How much risk is there? Actual question that she did not ask to me is "How much risk of your life??"
- "Leh Jabar age sab kichhur nomini te amar nam kore diye jabe." - from my wife. English : Before you are going to leh make me nominee for all your savings and insurance. - Realistic one from My wife.
I started gathering information for Ladakh as much as possible. Thanks to BCMTouting for having most of the information and those who share their experience.
My plan was to travel in 2010. Idea postponed for 2011. Later towards the end of 2010 one day one friend request came from Angshuman Dutta aka Ananda. I got the perfect partner for the trip. Mad for touring and biking.
We started planning for Ladakh, Later on Arunava and Nitan joined us. Team become a small but healthy as all of us having long distance ride except Nitai.
We all started preparation. After Several conference call, meeting itinerary stands.
